A Citywide Strategic Plan for 2050

Welcome to the City of Westland’s 2050 Strategic (Master) Plan!

We are thrilled to embark on an exciting journey to shape the future of Westland. 

The plan we are developing (also known as a ‘Comprehensive Plan’ or ‘Master Plan’) is the main guiding policy document for private development and public projects within the city. 

It looks ahead 25 years and considers where and how the city should grow or redevelop, considers changes that may need to be made to support future resident needs, and evaluates recent best practices in land use, development, and transportation for potential application within the city. 

State law requires periodic review and updates to these plans to align with current conditions and anticipated future changes.
